Suggestions for use: - Mulled tea: add 4 g of Glühwein Spices together with 4 g of 'regular tea' (unflavoured green, black or pu-erh tea, or possibly rooibos or honeybush) to 1 litre of boiling water, leave to steep for 4-8 minutes, then pour. Add sugar to taste. - Glühsap: bring 500 ml of grape juice or a mixture of 250 ml of grape juice and 250 ml of apple juice together with 10-15 g of Glühwein Spices to the boil, simmer gently for 10 minutes, then pour. The version with only grape juice is sweeter. - Glühwein: Bring 500 ml of sweet red wine (e.g. from the Aleatico, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache or Moscato Nero grape varieties) or red cooking wine together with 10 g of Glühwein Spices to just below boiling point, simmer gently for 10 minutes, add 40-60 g of sugar, stir well, pour. - You can hang the Glühwein Spices in the juice or wine in a large T-sac or tea infuser, or add them separately, but then you will need to strain them when serving. - Some of the ingredients in the Glühwein Spices cause a "dry mouth feeling". Many people like this (tonic, dry wine), others less so. The sweeter the juice or wine and/or the more sugar added, the less dry it will taste. It's a matter of taste!
