Description
Malva leaf comes from the malva plant (Malva sylvestris), which has been found in Europe for centuries along roadsides and sunny field edges. The plant is known for its decorative purple flowers and large, soft leaves. Malva is also commonly known as marshmallow, referring to the round fruits that resemble small marshmallow-shaped discs.
The leaves are mainly used for herbal tea. They are olive green, slightly hairy and have a soft, mild herbal flavour that combines well with other herbs or floral blends. Mallow leaf is therefore widely used in traditional herbal tea cultures, both as a standalone infusion and in blends for a natural herbal base.
