Description
Lavandin (Lavandula hybrida, also known as Lavandula × intermedia) is a natural cross between two types of lavender and is known for its full, fragrant character. The blossoms produce an aromatic, slightly spicy infusion with the characteristic lavender note reminiscent of summery Provençal fields.
The plant is mainly cultivated in southern France, where lavandin is an important part of the local agricultural and fragrance tradition. Due to its more intense fragrance, lavandin is popular in organic herbal teas, scented sachets and floral blends.
Dried lavender blossoms make a particularly fragrant herbal tea, either on their own or combined with herbs such as chamomile, lemon balm or mint. A classic herb with the scent of a Provençal summer's day.
