Description
Red grape leaves (Vitis vinifera L.) have been collected for centuries in wine-growing regions in Europe, where the young leaves are dried after harvest and processed into traditional herbal mixtures. The leaves have a soft, mildly spicy flavour with a subtle earthy undertone, giving them a pleasant, rounded infusion both on their own and in blends.
Dried red grape leaf adds a soft, slightly fruity note to infusions. It combines well with herbs such as hibiscus, rosehip, lemongrass, mint and other botanicals that support a fresh, bright flavour. The leaf is particularly appreciated for its soft mouthfeel and accessible aroma.
The leaves are harvested from the classic Vitis vinifera vine, after which they are carefully dried to preserve their colour and aromatic characteristics. Red grape leaves get their distinctive reddish-brown hue from natural discolouration during the season and drying.
