Description
Orange blossom (from Citrus sinensis), traditionally known as orange blossom, is the fragrant blossom leaf of the sweet orange tree. These trees have been cultivated for centuries in the Mediterranean region, North Africa and the Middle East. The delicate, creamy white blossoms symbolise purity and renewal and are often used in culinary and aromatic traditions.
The dried blossoms have a delicate, soft floral aroma with a slightly sweet, citrusy nuance. This makes them particularly suitable for use in tea blends, where they add a subtle fragrance and an elegant roundness to the infusion. They also come into their own in spicy or citrus-oriented blends.
Orange blossom is traditionally used in some cultures in perfumed waters, desserts and ritual drinks, but in this context it is used as a culinary botanical addition without any further health claims.
