Description
Hyssop (Hyssopus officinalis) is a classic plant from the Lamiaceae family and has been valued for centuries in both Mediterranean cuisine and traditional herbal cultures of Central Europe. The plant has narrow, dark green leaves and a distinct aromatic scent with warm, slightly minty and spicy notes. Dried hyssop has a full, characteristic flavour that remains beautifully balanced in infusions: not too sharp, not too heavy, but refined and spicy.
Historical sources regularly mention hyssop as part of monastery gardens and medieval herbals, often as a versatile culinary herb or as part of aromatic blends. In modern herbal traditions, hyssop is mainly used for its fragrant, warming character and as a flavouring in herbal infusions, blends or savoury dishes.
Our hyssop herb is carefully cut and organically grown. It forms a beautiful, fragrant base for pure infusions or as an aromatic element in herbal blends — even a small amount achieves a pronounced effect.
