De Theefabriek (The Tea Factory) | Tea Wholesale is part of De Theefabriek, a unique combination of the Netherlands’ only tea museum, a tea room with perhaps the most extensive tea menu in the world, a fragrant tea shop, a tea school and a tea wholesale business.
De Theefabriek is located in the former church and rectory of the picturesque village of Houwerzijl, in north-western Groningen, on the edge of Lauwersmeer National Park.
Since 1990, we have been sharing our love of tea with our visitors, guests and customers. We take our visitors on a surprising journey of discovery through the fascinating world of tea, serve our guests delicious teas and accompanying refreshments, and offer our customers a selection of teas, herbs, spices and blends, from classic to innovative and from very ordinary to exceptionally exclusive, in our tea shop and tea wholesaler.
The tea wholesale actually started to fill the quieter winter months in De Theefabriek with more tourist and recreational activities. In the summer, we are inundated with countless tourists, day trippers and tea lovers, but in the winter it is a lot quieter. And it worked: our commercial arm has now outgrown the tourist and recreational arm. The tea wholesaler is now located in an adjacent building, a former furniture shop and factory.
