Assam Satrupa Tippy, “Tea with White Points,” as it is still sometimes called.

The white dots refer to the tea leaf not yet budded at the top of the plucked tea leaves. The tiny white hairs this tip has give it a white, silvery, downy appearance after drying. In other tea varieties or variations in processing steps, the dots are more golden, as in this Assam.

SFTGFOP1 stands for Special Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe with the extra 1 for the finest, most special quality within this grade.
