Payment and discounts

If you are ordering for the first, second or third time or if you live in a country outside the Netherlands or if the order or invoice is to be shipped to a country outside the Netherlands, you must pay in advance, using one of our online payment methods, such as iDEAL, Bancontact, SOFORT Banking or PayPal, or a manual bank transfer.

If you live in the Netherlands, you may also pay on account from the fourth order onwards, provided that the order and the invoice must be sent to one or more addresses within the Netherlands. The invoice must be paid within 30 days by depositing/transferring the amount due into our bank account.

Cost payment method

There may be fees associated with your chosen payment method. These are clearly listed at checkout so you can make an informed choice.

For payments via iDEAL or Bancontact, we do not charge any fees.

With Belfius, KBC and SOFORT Banking, we charge a surcharge of 0.9%.
With Giropay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Maestro, Mastercard and Visa, we charge a 1.5% surcharge.
When paying via PayPal, we charge a 3% surcharge.
These surcharges cover a (large) portion of the fees charged to us by the respective payment providers.

When paying on account, we charge a surcharge of 5%, which we use to try to cover the costs of debtor administration (reminders, dunning, collection procedures) and uncollectible debtors.

When paying by manual bank transfer, we charge a flat fee of €2.50 per order, because we check our bank account every morning for the credit to the account for up to 7 days.

We find it better for our customers to make the cost transparent and pass it on to those who use it, rather than hiding it from everyone in the price of the items.

There is an invoice on one of the outer boxes in which your order is delivered, which also serves as an address label and packing list. If you ordered through the online store, you will also receive a digital invoice on the day of shipment.

Discounts

The Tea Factory does not apply special extra margins and discounts for wholesalers. However, quantum discounts are provided:

• order > €1,000 ” 4%
• order > €2,000 ” 6%
• order > €4,000 ” 8%
• order > €8,000 ” 10%
• bulk delivery of consumer packages (without display boxes, e.g. for end-of-year packages) from 20 packages of one product ” additional 2.5%
