To start the year 2020 off right: this beautiful Shu Pu Erh Tuo Cha, vintage 2000. The ideal tea for Millennials ๐
The tea is sun-dried, fermented for several months, aged for 4 years in Yunnan, and then further aged in Europe. Beautiful deep color in the head, wonderfully full and ripe in aroma and flavor.
The Tuo Cha’s weigh an average of 98 g each, including paper wrapper. They are traditionally produced in wool sacks and then pressed into the familiar nest shape. Some wool fluff is then present on the Tuo Cha’s to increase authenticity!
Vintage: 2000
Terroir: Xishuangbanna is an autonomous prefecture in southern Yunnan Province in China on the borders of Laos and Myanmar. The Hekai Tea Mountain, with the villages of Mannong and Manmai, is one of the oldest tea cultivation areas in the world. The tea gardens are spread over the hills and mountains between 1,200 and 1,800 meters and consist mainly of 200-400 year-old tea trees. Most tea trees are of the “Da Ye” Yunnan large-leaf variety, with an average height of 3-7 meters. The area has a southern, subtropical, monsoon climate with abundant rainfall. The average annual temperature is 18.1ยฐC with a relative humidity of 82%. So the climate is hot and humid, ideal conditions for tea trees.
